As part of our mission to encourage community stewardship, preservation, and restoration of cultural and historical sites, and landscapes on Molokaʻi, the goal of Ka Ipu Makani’s Restoration and Stewardship program focus area is to reconnect Molokaʻi ʻohana (families) with their wahi kūpuna (ancestral heritage sites and landscapes), and support their inherent kuleana (responsibility) to care for these places, while promoting the integrated management of both cultural and natural resources.
